This Week's Reading

This week I have been re-reading a book from my favorite series, the Harry Potter series! I am reading the 3rd installment, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This is my second favorite of the series, behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'm about a quarter of the way through and I am enjoying it very much. I absolutely love J.K. Rowling's style of writing and there are so many of the details in the book that you don't always remeber so when I re-read it it's sort of like a mini flashback.

Also I am doing my requirered reading for PATH. And to be honest, I am not enjoying The Odyssey very much. It's somewhat confusing to me and so I don't always rememeber what I just read so I have to keep going back and re-read. I am hoping that the story will at least pick up and start on a very adventurous track.

  1. While you're rereading HP, see if you can detect the elements of the Hero's Journey -- does it fit the pattern?

  2. I was thinking about that when my mind was on HP a while back. It really fits in to the hero's journey, but it's also just fun to read.
My favorite of the seven is the seventh, second favorite the sixth, but I also love the third. Do you have a favorite part?

  3. My favorite part of the third is when Harry and Hermione go back in time with the time turner and try to fix everything. And my favorite part of the seventh is from the beginning of the battle at Hogwarts to the end. I love the part where Harry views Snape's thoughts in the Pensieve.
